UPDATE ON COVID-19 REPORTING IN SOUTH AFRICA
For over two years COVID-19 daily updates have been part of our lives. The present phase of the pandemic, coupled with dwindling COVID-19 case numbers has necessitated a re-evaluation of the daily reporting strategy.
Through careful consideration and extensive council, it has been agreed that the reporting of daily COVID-19 surveillance data will conclude on Friday, 29 July 2022. The reporting of COVID-19 surveillance data, however, including the latest Testing Summary, will continue as per normal with the data being published in the existing weekly surveillance reports. These reports are available from Wednesdays and can be accessed here.
The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD), a division of the National Health Laboratory Service, remains committed to its surveillance activities and will continue to work on routine maintenance of the data systems.
