Mr Koena Nkoko
Mr Koena Nkoko is a seasoned public health executive leader who holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), a Master of Public Health (MPH), a B.Tech in Occupational Health Nursing and Nursing Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Health Management, an Advanced Diploma in Management, a Diploma in Comprehensive Nursing, an International Programme in Public Health Leadership and several certificates. He is a graduate/alumnus of the University of Stellenbosch, University of Cape Town, University of Washington, University of Limpopo, University of Johannesburg, University of the Western Cape, and Limpopo Nursing College.
He has over 25 years of combined experience in the public and private health sector and local government, over 15 years of which were in middle, senior and executive management, mainly in district health services and local government. He occupied several senior/executive management positions which include General Manager Clinics, Provincial Deputy Director, Sub-District Manager, Area Manager: Health Services, Acting Chief Operations Officer and the latest being Group Head (HOD): Health Department.
He previously served on various governance, procurement and advisory structures. He is now honoured and humbled to serve South Africa as a member of the NHLS Board of Directors as appointed by the National Minister of Health.
