Ms Shantell Mackay

Shantell Mackay is a Chief Procurement Officer with over 17 years of extensive experience in procurement and supply chain management across diverse industries, including mining, chemicals, logistics, and Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG). She has held several senior leadership roles, most notably serving as Chief Procurement Officer at Transnet Freight Rail and Group Head of Procurement at Clover SA and Botswana.

Shantell Mackay holds an Executive MBA from New York University and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (MCIPS), graduating cum laude. She has also been recognised among South Africa’s Top 50 Manufacturing Leaders and was nominated for the 2024 Pan African Supply Chain Awards.

Prior to joining the NHLS, she was General Manager: Procurement at Foskor. Her extensive experience in public sector procurement, regulatory compliance, and organisational transformation will be instrumental in strengthening our procurement function and supporting our strategic objectives.
