Dr Sylvia Sathekge

Dr Sylvia Sathekge is a Chartered and Professionally Certified CIO with over 20 years of experience leading technology-enabled business transformation in areas such as agriculture, mining, aviation, utilities, and public services. She has led enterprise IT strategy, strengthened cybersecurity, and led large-scale digital projects in many countries, bringing a strong global perspective to her work.

Globally recognised for her leadership, Dr Sathekge has been honoured as a World CIO 200 Legend 2025, Top 200 World CIO 2024, Top 50 Digital Leader (2023 & 2024), and one of the 100 Influential Women in Tech 2024. She was also a finalist for Women Leader of the Year 2024, a recipient of the World 200 CIO Award, and a nominee for CIO-SA CIO of the Year.

Dr Sathekge holds advanced degrees in Technology Management, Business Leadership, and a Doctorate in Business Administration. She is also Professor of Practice at the University of Johannesburg, sharing thought leadership on digital transformation and women in tech while inspiring future leaders.
